There is nothing harder than teaching.
Every single day comes with a million challenges.
There is nothing better than a weekend filled with football, chili, great friends, and someone who you love dearly.
If it weren’t for some amazing people and things, it would be harder to survive the week.
As a poor, poor teacher, I am very excited about the amount of free stuff I have been able to get for my classroom. At the DCPS Teacher Supply Depot, I was able to get 3 giant bags filled with random supplies (like a stapler, markers, folders, scissors, whiteboards, etc) and then 150 2” binders.
FO FREE
I love it. I have already broken my bank in many ways when trying to prepare for becoming a teacher, and I wholeheartedly appreciate the donation of supplies by so many different people.
My room is currently a disaster from the massive amounts of school supplies I have accumulated. Most of this is due to the fact that State Farm gave every Jax corps member like $100 worth of supplies (including, but not limited to, 5,000 paperclips).
Most of this is going to go straight to my classroom, so my room at home doesn’t look like it’s been taken over by TFA.
Also, New Teacher Orientation is 80% boring, 20% useful.
